Gpo-3 Grades

GPO-3 NEMA grade sheet is a highly flame-resistant material made from a blend of fiberglass reinforced thermoset polyester. This UL®-recognized material is the industry standard for electrical insulation applications thanks to its highly flame-retardant characteristics and arc/track resistance.

GPO-3 sheet exhibits an excellent combination of high strength, flame resistance, and low smoke generation. It is typically fabricated into interphase and end barriers and switchgears; GPO-3 is also popular for transit and marine applications where safe, yet economical materials are needed. In fact, thyssenkrupp Materials NA Canada supplies a “transit grade” GPO material that was designed specifically for the New York City transit system. It is now used in many other cities, as well, for third rail covers and other applications.

thyssenkrupp offers 0.125” (1/8”) and 0.250” (1/4”) thick GPO-3 grade sheet in standard sizes (36" x 72" and 48" x 96") and custom sizes upon request to meet the needs of your specific application.
